Spotlight & Jewelry Giveaway: Redeemed By You (Vranthian Vampires, Book 3) by K.A. M’Lady

In Vranthia, The Wasting has claimed the lives of women, children, and warriors alike; many have fallen to this great plague. No one is safe from its darkness. Recklessness and subterfuge walk hand and hand amongst the Elders, as they seek a means to rule. With ferocity they intend to control the meek, with gluttony they will bleed the docile; destroying all who stand in their way.

But The Wasting can no longer be contained. What began as a dark elixir, stoked in the veins of hatred and revenge, from an enemy long thought dead, has spread beyond the great halls of the Vranthian Kingdom. And no one is certain when or where its darkness will end. Is the mystery and magic of the trion enough to save this great nation?

Kantella Balacjek is a lot of things, but a traitor to his people he is not. He needs to find the source of the darkness to prove his innocence, but the evidence against him grows almost daily. Lies told and enemies made have a way of shielding the truth from the light, even when the truth rages in the blood. Death and her harbinger await him. Will he succumb, or will The Wasting consume them all?

The Darengy grave-warriors have always walked in the shadows. But even they have their outcasts, the creatures that they fear. Onya knows what it is to be different, to be alone with the dying. The shadows and darkness hold their whispers and their pleas. Only she has the power to choose who crosses over. Enslaved by the resistance, she has learned the capacity for evil. Does her blood hold the power to seal the fate of many nations? Does she the courage to change that fate?

Mercenary, loner, wanderer – Traegar is one of the first among the Elders. He is a maker and destroyer of life. Time has jaded him. His people’s level of debauchery and power disgusts him. When the Great Wars ended he chose to walk away and hunt what he despises and loves the most; burying the pieces within him instead. Now his kindred are dying in droves. The Elders have grown unruly, and unstable in their bid for domination. In his dreams the whispers of the ancients fire his blood with the heat of the mating.

Will finding his trion redeem his faith in his people? Will their belief in each other be enough to set them all free?

Strong are the Binds of Love, Faith and Magic.

Magic Changes Everything When Loves Claims The Soul

On Vranthia, The Wasting is spreading, mutating, claiming not only the women of this fierce, warrior race, but stealing the lives of men, children, warriors, and now, some say, even the Elders among their race.

Rumors of the trion – the ancient joining of Vranthian, Darengy and Outworlder blood and magic as a cure – is growing beyond the halls of Prince Kuthar’s court. With his brother, Prince Draven’s recent joining, there is the first glimmer of hope for their people. But with hope comes lies and growing subterfuge. The Elders demand a rightful ruler and some will stop at nothing to get it.

Kuthar Balacjek – leader, warrior, and vampire is first in line to be the rightful king. Bred to rule from an early age, he has learned Vranthian laws, and their ancient history. He has studied their past, and fought their battles with the blood, sweat and ferocity, that only a true ruler can comprehend. But The Wasting is an enemy that even he is uncertain how to conquer. Will he find the answers he seeks in the ones whose fate he now controls? Or have they laid claim to his soul?

Cynthiana Rue – Cyn – has never been more irritated in her life. Space-napped by her best-friend and a misfit crew of alien vampires she is swept up in Vranthian legend, war and her captors’ unbridled passions. Will she fight for her freedom or give in to the unknown?

Ooen has known slavery his entire life. Bound since youth to guard the Elder, Vogeth, he has known a life of deception. And now, The Wasting has changed everything. Review: Charred Heart (Heart of Fire, Book 1) by Lizzy Ford

A modern day retelling of “Beauty and the Beast”

***Recommended for ages 18+ due to multiple, creative, detailed, steamy, sexy-time adult situations.***

For a thousand years, Chace has searched for a way to break the curse placed on him by a jilted lover. He’s a dragon shifter, one who can’t control when the magic will force him into a different form. He’s already lost everyone he ever cared about a few times over and doesn’t know how much longer he’s meant to suffer.

At his wit’s end, he makes a deal with a mysterious figure that offers him what he wants most – an end to his misery – in exchange for everything that’s his: His life, his power. His heart.

The next day, he meets Skylar, a modern day dragon slayer whose mission is to cage him – or kill him. Sexy, witty and brave, she is the yin to his yang, the woman destined to break the curse, balance his magic and make his broken heart whole.

Except it’s too late. Not only has he sealed his fate, but an innocent one-night-stand with Skylar has dragged her into the middle of a deal with the devil, one she won’t escape, if he can’t convince her that dragon shifters aren’t her enemies.

Partial Chapter 1 Excerpt:

Chace glanced up from the glass of amber beer as his closest friend, Gunner, approached their usual table in the corner of the bar. Unlike Chace, who was a dragon shifter, Gunner was able to transform into a panther the size of a car. He had dark hair and almond-shaped, brown eyes, a muscular frame, a gait worthy of a cat and two pints in his hands. He sat and placed one glass down beside Chace’s untouched drink.

“You ate your pizza, which means you can’t be too sick to drink your beer,” Gunner observed.

“There’s no excuse for wasting good pizza,” Chace replied. “Just not thirsty.”

“You really did it, didn’t you?” Gunner guessed.

“Yeah,” Chace replied. “I talked to him.”

“And?”

Chace’s eyes swept around the shifters’ bar, the only safe haven for a dying race of supernatural creatures that were being hunted and killed off. The tables, chairs and flooring were all mahogany, worn but polished and clean, the ceiling and lattice work on the pillars resembling those of an English pub rather than a typical biker bar. The walls were decorated with autographed classic rock posters, and shadowboxes with guitars, drumsticks and other rock curios perched above the row of plush booths along one wall.

The bar fed off his magic and was full this evening, though its patrons were tense. Their talk consisted of worried murmurs and the occasional cursing.

“He’ll give me what I want,” Chace replied. “Doesn’t seem to be any strings attached. Just wants me and everything I own, which is basically just my bike at this point.”

Gunner sat down, frowning. “Why Chace?”

Because I’m tired of watching people I care about die around me. Chace debated what to tell his friend, who had been with him the longest of anyone still living.

“You remember Steven?” he asked.

“Yeah. He built your chopper, right?”

“Yep. I used to take it to him for maintenance every year for forty years, and he checked up with me monthly to make sure it was working well. He built it by hand,” Chace mused. “He loved that thing like it was his own.”

“Used to. I can guess where this is going,” Gunner said. “He passed?”

“Last week. I got an email from his son. He left me spare parts in his will.” Chace chuckled. “Think he liked the bike more than me, but he was …”

“… the last human friend who hadn’t died. I get it.”

They both fell quiet. Sometimes, Chace wondered where the years went, because they seemed to jumble up and fly by in a blink. And sometimes, he wasn’t certain he’d make it through the end of a week, especially when someone like Steven died and made him question everything in his life all over again. He’d outlived every friend he’d ever had, up until he chose only to associate with other shifters. Every time he let himself fall for a girl or made a friend, he convinced himself that this time, it would work out. The curse would lift, and he wouldn’t be left alone again.

It never works out that way.

“A thousand years, Gun,” he murmured. “I’ve been alive a thousand years. Steven was eighty, and he left me spare parts, because he knew I wasn’t going to die anytime soon.”

“Oh, hell. Here we go again,” Gunner joked. “It’s the nature of who we are, man.”

“It’s the nature of who you are,” Chace corrected him. “I was made a shifter. You all were born shifters.”

“Doesn’t matter, does it? We’re all the same now.”

“Except you can die in a fight with another shifter. Me? No such luck,” Chace replied. “You expect to be immortal. I can’t figure out why I’m not dead.”

Gunner snorted in response.

“You know what I was doing when I turned eighty?”

“Sleeping your way across Finland?”

“Yes, but there’s more.” Chace grinned. “I was going to the funeral of my mother, who lived to almost a hundred. You ever see a Viking funeral?”

“On TV.”

“They’re spectacular.” Chace allowed himself to think of the memory he didn’t like recalling. He could almost smell the scent of burning wood as his mother’s body was set afloat on a fiery Viking ship into the sea. The evening had been cold and clear, the sunset smearing brilliant pinks, oranges and purples across one end of the sky while the other end was deep blue and scattered with blinking stars.

He’d gone incognito, disguised as a distant cousin, for no one but his mother knew his secret at that point that he was immortal. Even she didn’t know why the curse was placed on him. It was a secret he hadn’t told anyone. Ever. He’d been a stupid, hotheaded fool when he was a kid.

“I want to be human again. I want my heart back. Anyway.” He shook his head. “I went to see Mr. Nothing this morning, and he made me a smokin’ deal. He’ll lift the curse in exchange for everything that is mine.”

“So … what is that exactly? Did you ask?”

Chace shrugged. “Don’t care. The moment before he makes me mortal, I’m going to move my cabin one last time and just live out the rest of my years in peace. Beside, I only have my magic and my bike.”

“When I met you, you were this hot-headed, cocky bastard.” Gunner leaned forward, his face taut with concern. “You mellowed out over the years a bunch. But this decision sounds like it was made by the young dragon shifter who didn’t stop to think before lighting things on fire.”

Chace said nothing. A small part of him agreed, but he’d been more disturbed by Steven’s death than he cared to let on. Long ago he tried to close off his emotions to the world. Maybe it was monthly chats and ritual trips to visit Steven that let the tiny man with a huge smile work his way under his skin. After a thousand years, Chace should be completely numb, able to rationalize death as a stage in the natural way of the world the way Gunner did.

But he couldn’t, and he’d tried for years to philosophize his way into accepting death.

“I made the deal anyway,” Chace said. “He’s going to send a messenger tonight or tomorrow with one of his cards to let me know where to meet him for the final spell.”

“You know we don’t know anything about Mr. Nothing.”

“We know he’s older than even me, and that he’s got the magic to do this. The deal is straightforward. Worst case scenario, he kills me.” Chace shrugged.

“I don’t like it.”

“I don’t either. What other choice do I have of ever having this curse lifted? The woman who placed it on me – she’s been dead for over nine hundred years, Gunner!”

“I know.”

“At some point, I’ll outlive you and the rest of the guys we run with. No, Gunner, I’m done. What she did to me can’t be undone any other way, and I’ve looked for a way to end the curse my entire life,” Chace said firmly. “I turned a thousand last week, and that’s when Steven died. It’s a sign.”

“I hear ya.” Gunner’s voice was soft. “I don’t blame you, Chace. I just don’t trust Mr. Nothing.”

Mr. Nothing had gotten his nickname because no one could find out anything about him. No one knew where he lived and yet, he was easy to find whenever Chace had wanted to talk to the elusive creature that had been around since he was made a shifter.

Easy to find. Not easy to get answers out of. Chace had nearly gone mad the first few years of the curse trying to get the shadowy figure that only appeared at night to tell him something about his newfound immortality or his magic.

To this day, Chace had no idea what Mr. Nothing was, aside from a shifter of some kind with great power. He suspected Mr. Nothing was a dragon, though he’d long since given up trying to get answers out of someone who didn’t seem interested in anyone else.

Gunner waved to someone who had just entered, and Chace looked up to see the third member of their four-man gang. A phoenix shifter with a like-minded affinity for fire, Luke was blond like Chace, though his hair was short and his eyes dark, whereas Chace had blue eyes and kept his dark blond hair long in the way of his Viking people.

“Don’t tell the others,” Chace said to Gunner. “I’ll let them know when everything is final.”

“All right.” Gunner didn’t appear to be happy about keeping secrets from the other two members of their tight-knit crew.

“Thanks. I’m gonna go get changed.”

“I’ll put on some tunes. I think the shifters need something to cheer them up.”

Chace rose. He agreed silently and took in the faces of those around him once more, trying to distance himself from his concern. As much as he tried to deny it, he knew they were his people, even if he’d started off as a human. They had nowhere else to go, and no one else to turn to. The shifter creed was simple: to live their lives quietly without harming anyone or bringing attention to their society. It was how they remained hidden, a secret subculture that the humans had no need to know about.

Yet someone had found out, and the shifter ranks had thinned considerably the past twenty years. Once numbering in the thousands, the several dozen men and women seeking refuge in his bar were all that remained.

Sapphyria's Review:

Charred Heart is a dragon shifter novel with enough originality to separate it from the rest.   LizzyFord's shifters have dead hearts - hearts that don't beat.  The heart of dragon only begins to beat after finding his true mate.

Chace is a 1,000 year old dragon shifter.  He isn't like the rest of the story's threatened shifter population.  He was created, not born.  In fact, he was cursed by a scorned lover all those years ago to live the way of the dragon.  After living so long and watching humans around him die, Chace has decided to contact Mr. Nothing, who promises that he can remove the curse and make Chace human again.  His shifter friends are unhappy with Chace's decision because, at this point, shifters are disappearing at alarming rates at the hands of slayers.

Skylar is a dragon slayer currently tracking [Chace].  She is last dragon slayer alive and the only one that can get close enough to a dragon to capture and/or kill it.  The weird thing is that Skylar has been having strange dreams - dreams that involve a majestic blue dragon, her mother, and the illusion that she's a dragon protector, not a slayer.

When Chace and Skylar meet the attraction is instant and powerful.  This meeting was the only part of the book I wasn't too fond of and thought could have been strengthened up a bit.  Skylar's character is only 19 yet she dropped her panties in 0.2 seconds.  Everything up to that point and everything after that point was great.  I did eventually enjoy the relationship between Chace and Skylar.  She doesn't understand his power over her, he doesn't understand her power over him and neither can figure out why Chace's dead heart is beating since they met.

What ensues after their union is a struggle between what Skylar has been taught and what she has begun to feel, especially since her dreams have started to contradict everything she's been taught at the Shifter Rehabilitation center.  Chace also has his own set of problems.  Part of the deal involves the capture of Skylar and Chace's presentation of her to Mr. Nothing.  He's not sure he wants to lose his immortality but Mr. Nothing won't reverse the deal he had made with Chace.

Charred Heart is a well-crafted novel with excellent execution.  Lizzy created a wonderful world that easily visualized by the reader.  The reader should have problem becoming emotionally involved in the novel.  The feelings conveyed by all characters, main and secondary, are well written and believable for the most part.  I was completely involved in the story from the beginning and found it to be an easy, smooth read.

Lizzy Ford's ability to pull a reader into her novel certain has me adding more of her books to my reading list.

Oh, and by the way.....you'll be left with a cliffhanger!  Make sure to buy book 2 at the same time you grab book 1.

I loved this book and will definitely be grabbing Charred Tears, Book 2.

A favorite quote:
"[Chace] and his magic coexist-intertwined but still independent" (Ford, L., 2013, pg. 58).

The spark of all dilemmas is lies and deception

Atlanta, Georgia

Muhammed Sokhna embarks on a month long Bewitching Book Tour for his novel, The Worst Dilemma, on January 27, 2014.

Just what is love? Is it just a word people use for personal gain? Is it a verb that needs creativity expression in order to understand its full meaning? Or, is it just looking in the mirror?

For Chantrelle Hayfield, love is simplicity. But, she lives in Atlanta, a complex city full of surprises. Like her chiseled, tall, and chocolate next door neighbor, Rasheed Goodmen, who could be a new love interest? But, when her best friend, Ashley Leslie, comes out about her true feelings, will Chantrelle be able to handle the convoluted feelings of others even if that means losing her simplicity?

Chantrelle’s other friends Ariel Samson and Alexis Smith could be able to guide her? But, Ariel needs to learn to be a little selfish and Alexis has to stop scheming to get by. The underworld of Atlanta will test each of these women. Because behind the spark of every dilemma, is lies and deception. Who will be able to see clearly in order to avoid tragedy?

About the Author:

Throughout Mr. Sokhna’s life, he searched for a purpose. At the age of eighteen, he went through some tough times. His girlfriend left him, his finances were not where they needed to be, his family was struggling to make ends meet, he lost his Hope scholarship, and was desperately trying to find out what was his purpose here on earth. The depression within him started to build and lead to an attempt of suicide.

With the love and support of his family and close friends, he slowly climbed back on his feet, but there was still one remaining problem. He still didn’t know what his purpose was, until he had a vision.

Something within him told him to write down his story. There was resistance, but he followed the hunch. Five thousand words turn into ten thousand. Then ten turned into twenty thousand. Then all of a sudden, twenty thousand words turned into over forty thousand words. He recognized that he found his true passion. It was something that will challenge him. It was something he was yearning for all his life. It was something he could call “his own” and that something was writing.

Mr. Sokhna’s purpose is to ignite the creativity within people and help them realize that life is much more than what meets the eye. He wants his readers to know that all that we ever done and all we will ever do in this world is just the tip of this iceberg of what could have been done in this life.

The Worst Dilemma Series is one of the three ways he likes to channel his talent to the world. Being able to create erotic content that makes people blush is not only pleasing to him, but it makes him more humble to evolve the craft of literature. Mr. Sokhna will continue to strive to bring more enticing content through The Worst Dilemma Series. A series that will shed light on some of the toughest situations people go through in life, with the added bonus of erotic content.

About the Author:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Katee Robert, learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.

Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way—as it often does—and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she’d like to write a book and try to get published.

Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding speculative romance. Because, really, who wouldn’t want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?

She now spends her time—when not lost in Far Reach worlds—playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

Promotional Blitz: Tall, Dark, and Undead by Sandra Cox

I'm really excited to be able to host this book for Sandra!!!

First ~~ the cover is Smokin' Hot.
Second ~~ the book is dedicated to me :)  (Thank you, Sandra!!!)

What is Tall, Dark and Undead all about?

Gutsy, kickass Suzanne James has no intention of complicating her life by falling in love…especially with a vampire. But it’s hard to stay objective when a drop-dead gorgeous male rescues her from three assailants in a dark alley. All but unconscious, she could swear her hero has glowing red eyes and two sharp, pointed teeth.

Adrian Caine has spent the past hundred years, in vampire parlance, a vegetarian. When he rescues a beautiful blonde in a dark alley, it takes all of his formidable control not to backslide. Attraction turns to desire. Even though it’s not in Suzanne’s best interest, he can’t stay away.

Here's an excerpt for your eyeball pleasure (if I can even get you to take your eyes off of the cover!)

“Three men jumped me and I kicked their ass.”
Kess gave me a pained look. “That’s why you’re black and blue and in a hospital bed instead of upstairs doing your job?”
“Details, details.” I made a dismissive motion with my hand.
“You were out walking, late at night again, by yourself weren’t you? How many times have I told you to take a taxi when you work late? You take a few kickboxing classes and think you can take on the world.” He ran his fingers through his thick silver hair. His face registered extreme disapproval.
“It’s rude to say, I told you so, Kess.” I sat straighter and tried for injured dignity.
“A lot of good it does. You don’t listen.”
“In this case, you were right.” I ran the fingers of my good hand through my tangled hair. I must look a mess.
“I’m always right.”
“And modest too.”
He grinned. “Are you going to tell me what happened?” He took another gulp of his rapidly cooling coffee.
“That’s what I’ve been trying to do, but you keep interrupting me.”
“Don’t whine. It’s unbecoming, just tell me what happened. I heard a Good Samaritan brought you in then disappeared.”
“It was pretty odd, Kess.”
“I’m not sure odd is the word I’d use for getting beat up and a shoulder dislocated.” His voice dry, his glance shifted to my shoulder. He frowned.
I sighed. Kess, just wasn’t going to let this go.
“Not that part. My, err, Good Samaritan.” I fidgeted on the bed and plucked at the sheet. Somehow the term Good Samaritan just didn’t fit. Goose bumps roughened my skin and my heart galloped as I remembered fangs and glowing red eyes.  “Kess.”
“Yes.”
“Do you believe in vampires?”
“If you didn’t want to talk about it, you could have just said so.” He notched his chin and started to rise.
I looked at the door. No one was in the hall. I hunched forward and whispered still clutching the sheet. “Kess, he had fangs and his eyes glowed.”
He frowned and straightened. “They told me you didn’t have a concussion or any kind of damage to your head.  I’ll have Dr. Brown run an MRI. I should have made them do it last night.”

Virtual Publicity Tour: Mr. Virile and the Girl Next Door by Gwen Hayes

Title: Mr. Virile and the Girl Next Door
Genre: Romance
Author: Gwen Hayes
Publisher: Entangled Indulgence
Pages: 67
Language: English
Format: Ebook

Online virile.com dating columnist Dane Martin has no plans to give up his reign as bachelor extraordinaire. He has a reputation to uphold, especially with the upcoming release of his book Coming on Strong.

Holly Winters, everyone’s favorite girl next door, thanks to her blog of the same name, gives advice, but she doesn’t always take it. When she meets Dane Martin, every fiber of her being warns her to turn tail and run. Instead, she risks her future as an authority on relationships, jeopardizing her upcoming self-help book for women struggling to find commitment among the Virile sycophants.

Has the Girl Next Door tamed the most Virile man alive, or is she just another notch on the bedpost?

Excerpt:

“I’m not going to sleep with you, you know.”
“I can be very persuasive, Holly.” He pressed a hand into her lower back firmly so that she felt, in detail, the state of his arousal.
He was thick and impossibly hard. That she caused his reaction was flattering and empowering, until she remembered that he was supposedly the most virile man in the city. This was what he did; he seduced women, making them feel good about themselves and weakening their defenses for self-preservation. Impressing them with his penis.
She shook her head. “I like sex too much to waste it on a throwaway night with you, Mr. Virile. Sorry.”
A momentary flash of confusion troubled his brow. He was not used to a challenge, it would seem, and probably most especially one about his sex appeal. “I guarantee you won’t feel like you wasted a night with me.”
“Oh, but I would. You see, sex with a stranger is mediocre, at best.”
“You obviously haven’t had great sex,” he countered.
She felt just sassy enough to press her breasts harder into his granite torso. “No, Mr. Martin, I’m afraid it’s you who hasn’t had great sex. You’re missing out on the next level. When you actually know and care about your partner, it’s…exquisite.”
Good God, there was a smoldering fire banked in those eyes of his. The promise of heat. Sex with him would be amazing, she was sure he was right about that. But neither was she wrong. When there was real intimacy, not just body parts and pheromones, sex was even better. She’d have to remind herself of that later when she was alone lamenting the lost chance she had at getting naked with a veritable sex god.
Holly broke the eye contact first, probably a sign of weakness, but it was getting too intense. This wasn’t just about her and her hormones. She had her readership to think about. Women who depended on her advice. If she couldn’t lead by example, she had no business leading at all.
“This has been entertaining, but I think it’s time for me to go.”
His hand pressed possessively into the small of her back. “This isn’t over, Ms. Winters. I intend to collect on my spoils of the hunt someday soon.”
“Oh, Mr. Martin, I promise you’ll find bigger, better game and forget all about me.”
But would she be able to forget about him?

Review & Giveaway: Charred Heart (Heart of Fire, Book 1) by Lizzy Ford

Turbulent Passion by G.L. Ross Deleted Scene

Upon entering Wayne’s home, Wayne immediately pours a glass of wine. “Wine, Lisa?”

“Sure, but just half a glass. I’ve already had two glasses and am really sleepy.”

“Do you want to head on to bed?” Oh jeez, no! Now I’m wide awake. Bed? I had not even thought about sleeping arrangements. This night is a complete and total clusterfuck!

“Uh, no, let’s visit and listen to music. I down the half glass of wine and request a refill.” Liquid courage, please come through. How did I not think about sleeping arrangements? Another Freudian slip?

Wayne turns on some music while explaining, “I created this mix for you, for us. All these songs remind me of you.”

“Wayne, that’s very sweet. You really are too good to me.” A nervous energy flows through my veins. Every word I utter sounds forced.

Wayne sits beside me on the couch draping an arm around my shoulders. “No, you just bring out the best in me, Lisa.” His hand brushes down my cheek and an electrical charge vibrates my senses. “You have no idea how beautiful you are which is what makes you even more stunning. Dance with me.” Wayne stands, takes my wine glass and sits it on the coffee table. Taking my hand he pulls me into his grasp. “I love holding you, smelling you, tasting you.” He nibbles my ear and once again I feel “that” ache. I so want him and I really want to forget Lance. I need to forget Lance. I need Wayne to kiss every inch of me and make “that” ache and Lance’s ache go away. “Do you like it when I kiss you here, Lisa?” He kisses my neck tracing my ear with his tongue.

“Yes,” I breathlessly utter.

“…and here?” He kisses the corner of my mouth. My breathing is labored.

“Yes, very much.” I think too much, but maybe this is what I need.

Wayne whispers in my ear, “Lisa, do you want me?”

My heart skips a beat. The song on the mix ends and there is silence between songs. “Yes, but I’m scared.”

With a lift of my chin, I look into his intense eyes, his intimidating eyes. “What are you afraid of? I will be gentle.” His hand massages the tension in my neck.

“I’m afraid of you leaving me, of breaking my heart.”

I wish God would send me a sign.

The next song begins to play and Oh My Gosh! It’s Chris Young singing, “Gettin’ You Home Tonight.” Is this a sign God?

“Lisa, why would I ever want to leave you? I told you, ‘you mesmerize me.’ I want you like I’ve never wanted anyone. Let me make love to you, baby.”

I’m stunned, excited, and over the top nervous. The look on his face and the tone in his voice leaves no doubt that he really wants me. Taking my trembling hand in his he leads me to his bedroom. Sometime between the tour of the house and now he has created a seductive backdrop, with candles all over his bedroom and white rose petals spread across the bed. It is a scene out of a romance novel. He is a master of seduction.

Wayne discards my cardigan exposing my hesitant flesh. Soothingly, he slips my camisole strap from my shoulder while spreading feather light kisses across my nape. I close my eyes, enjoying the long anticipated affection as he walks behind me. He lifts my camisole over my head. Opening my eyes I stare at the enticing, yet frightening bed. Standing naked from the waist up, reality slaps me in the face; this is going to happen - tonight. The “master of seduction” massages my shoulders, before exploring my body. His experienced hands make their way to my breasts. His fingers teasingly torment my nipples. My mind flashes to Lance. You have to forget Lance, Lisa. I find myself unconsciously surrendering to Wayne as I lean back into his arms.

His mouth begins, ever so gently, nibbling kisses up and down my neck. Just as I am beginning to relax, Wayne spins me around plunging his tongue into my gaping mouth. The darkness of his eyes says it all. He desires me and he is going to have me tonight, there’s no turning back.

My skirt is on the floor before I know what has happened and his hands are inside my lace panties. Slowly enticing me with his moans he lowers my panties to the floor. Unexpectedly, Wayne abruptly stops his quest. Stepping back, he begins to undress for me. He’s so at ease with his nakedness. I’m frozen and in absolute awe of his beautifully sculpted body. His arms and chest are a sea of muscles, rippling and strong. His narrow hips merge into large, powerful thighs. I want to touch him, but instead I simply stare as he removes his jeans.

Oh my gracious, he definitely desires me - there is no doubt.

“Take my hand, Lisa.” Nervously, I respond. He leads me to his bed never breaking eye contact. He places a kiss on my palm, prior to placing my hand on his chest. Like a child experimenting with a new toy, I stroke and search the strong and sturdy muscles that lure me. I do want him. My mind, heart, and flesh are viciously warring with each other. Weakened by the night’s activities and the desire to forget I search for the tangible; I choose to focus on the sexy man standing in front of me, nude, desiring to possess me. Nothing else matters at this moment. My flesh wins the war.

“Lisa, I will ask you again, ‘do you want me? Do you want me to make love to you? Here? Right now?’”

I nod my head affirmatively.

With his hands on my shoulders, Wayne sternly demands, “No Lisa, I told you one day you would beg me to release the passion inside of you, so I need to hear you say it.”

I stand perfectly still while listening to the intense pounding of my racing heart. I’m desperately trying to absorb this monumental moment. A man is about to make love to me. My mind is screaming, “No,” but my flesh has surrendered and is waving the white flag. Releasing my held breath I softly respond, “Wayne, kiss every inch of me - I want you, now.”
